Shishur Sevay is a Home for orphan girls, those who have lost connection to family and community and who would otherwise live in an institution. The girls are thriving, learning, and beginning to see different futures for themselves. Our children, abled and disabiled share their lives with each other and with Dr. Michelle Harrison, aka "Mummy." who lives in the home Our mission is to provide a non-institutional model for orphaned children where they are nurtured and educated so they can be participating members of Society.

For a while the Typepad site was blocked, and even after days and days of working with Typepad support we could not get it to work. This was probably due to government blocking, as there were news reports of the government blocking Typepad as well as others from time to time. The site is working now, which is why I can write this, but in the meantime I moved the blog to www.shishursevay.wordpress.com. Please join us there. The subscription button on that site works so you can subscribe, which was not possible at Typepad as it just didn't work. All the old posts are on both sites, the Typepad and Wordpress.

We are fine, with lots of adventures to follow. We will be reporting more on the children.

Bubbi

This is two years old, from before I added 13 children to my life... Bubbi has taught me a lot, and i'll blog about that soon, as my adventures with her are part of my strength. Bubbi is my cow. She is about five years old and just had her first calf, Shiva. It is really hard to explain my relationship to my cow, except that I knew I wanted a cow. I wanted a cow because I love to take pictures of cows, and i imagined that my cow would have a lot to say. I'm listening, and invite you to meet and get to know Bubbi.

This is the first Album. I won't even try to put the story in order, but more like the blog -- little scenes.... And some will just be random, pictures I love and want to share. Partly this is just because time is so little, and pictures so many. I started it 29th December but I've been adding to it.....
